  • GOOD UPBRINGINGMMOMA x STILL ART FOUNDATION, MOSCOW2024

    The “GOOD UPBRINGING” exhibition, hosted by the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) and the Still Art Foundation, showcases works by young Russian fashion photographers, all winners of a grant program. Artists such as Dmitri Bulin, Nikolai Efimtsev, and Bulat Arslanov explore themes ranging from surrealism and myth to social engagement and cinematic reflection. The event emphasizes fashion photography as a medium that transcends commercial purposes, integrating elements of contemporary art and mythology. This exhibition marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration to promote Russian talent and includes plans for regional tours, biennials, and educational programs.

  • AUCTION: NORM LIQUIDATIONRICHTER, MOSCOW2022

    Newnow and Blanar Art present “NORM LIQUIDATION“, an auction of young contemporary art. The inaugural event takes place on September 6 at Richter. A pre-auction exhibition runs from August 13 to September 4 across multiple locations: Lobby Moscow bar, Ushatáva, Avgvst, and P.Y.E. Optics showrooms, Mute space, and Polyandria bookstore. The project explores how contemporary art integrates into daily life, reflecting on “the norms of normality and the normality of norms,” temporarily weaving these ideas into the urban landscape.

    “IF YOU LOVE SOMETHING, LET IT GO” explores the fragility and beauty of emotional connections in the modern age. The exhibition delves into themes of longing, detachment, and the transformative power of letting go. Through a mix of portraits, abstract works, and immersive installations, artists reflect on the tension between holding on and setting free. The pieces evoke a sense of vulnerability, inviting viewers to embrace impermanence as a form of love. This is an ode to the emotional landscapes that shape our humanity, celebrating the bittersweet essence of release.

    The Ruarts Gallery hosts “AT FIRST SIGHT,” a solo exhibition by Nicholas Efimtsev, part of their “Debut” series for emerging artists. Efimtsev’s photographs focus on male portraits and melancholic autumn landscapes, capturing fleeting beauty and raw human nature. His style evolves over time, using techniques like “dirty scan glass” effects for a timeless feel. Inspired by literature, art, and renowned photographers, Efimtsev’s work explores themes of vulnerability and freedom. The exhibition runs from April 8 to May 30, 2021, in Moscow.

  • BOYS! BOYS! BOYS!PADDLE8.COMONLINE AUCTION2019

    April, 2019 – May, 2019 / online auction

    The “Boys! Boys! Boys!” project is a series of auctions and exhibitions organized by Paddle8 in collaboration with The Little Black Gallery. Curated by Ghislain Pascal, the initiative aims to support and promote queer and gay photographers. Auctions are held online and in cities like London, Los Angeles, and Amsterdam. An online store has also been created to sell works by contemporary photographers. In 2020, a book titled “Boys! Boys! Boys!” was published, showcasing works from the project. The initiative continues to strengthen the presence of queer photography in contemporary art.
